Steve Arpin: The Man

Canadian roots with a born and bred passion for racing, Steve loves to race fast and play hard in his downtime.

Birthdate: December 16, 1983

Hometown: Fort Frances, Ontario

Currently lives in: Huntersville, N.C.

Favorite food: My wife makes this incredible dish with quinoa and spinach stuffed chicken.

Least favorite food: Oysters

Favorite “downtime” activities: Hanging out with my wife, riding bikes, going to gym, being outdoors and staying active.

Favorite movies: Anything with Will Ferrell.

Favorite TV show: We got hooked on “The Royals.” It’s the only one I watch on a regular basis.

First pets: Siamese-looking cat named Misty (ran away) and a golden retriever named Bailey.

Current pets: None at the moment. We’d love to get a dog, but we travel too much.

First car he owned: In high school, I had a dark blue 1992 regular cab stick shift Chevy 210. It didn’t have a tilt steering wheel or delayed wipers. I put two big subwoofers behind the seat and it would rattle the truck. In fact, it rattled the mirror right off the windshield.

Best memory from childhood: The year I walked down on Christmas morning, and my first factory-built go-cart was under the tree. It was amazing.

Favorite thing about being a racecar driver: The constant adventure. Every day is different. There are so many different aspects (business, mechanical, etc.), but you have different places to focus every day. It’s stressful, but it’s so rewarding. And no matter what you go through on a day-to-day basis, you still get to drive a racecar. Which is awesome.

Favorite family vacation as a kid: When my dad took me on race trips. I always would go to Florida in February; it was my second Christmas.

Song he loves to sing: The first song that I learned the words to was “Austin” by Blake Shelton. It was way back when I would be on the road with my buddies, and it was on the radio all the time.
